This sculpture was inspired by the repetitions and patterns of openings and doorways featured along the facade of the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney’s CBD. Built in 1898, it is disturbing to know this landmark was proposed for demolition in 1959. Luckily this grand sandstone structure was restored and still stands, a popular meeting place and thoroughfare, a place I often cannot avoid visiting to admire when in the city.

This is a unique one-off sculpture, handmade by Natalie Rosin in her Sydney studio.

Artist signature included on base of sculpture.
